Catherine ("Cathy") Herrington Hale is the founder of the Herrington Law Firm.  She is a fourth generation Texan and an experienced trial lawyer representing clients in family and divorce cases as well as serious civil litigation matters.  She is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.  With  the support of The Herrington Law Firm, she continues to be an effective litigator and skilled conflict negotiator.

Experience.  Cathy has been practicing law since November of 1998.  In 2006, after working for larger law firms representing corporations and big business, she formed The Herrington Law Firm to work for and help individuals through the legal process. She has successfully tried and mediated hundreds of cases for individuals who were injured or suffered loss due to the negligent and/or willful acts of others, and for clients in the family law system including divorce, custody modifications, pre-marital and post marital agreements, and enforcements. Prior to practicing law, from 1993 to 1995, she worked in Congress as a legislative aide and grants coordinator in Washington, DC for Houston Congressman Gene Green.

Education.  Cathy graduated from Vesalius College in Brussels, Belgium in 1993, completing a legal thesis on the Law of the Sea particular to the Gulf of Mexico.  She is a 1998 graduate of the University of Houston Law Center, where she was admitted to the Order of the Barristers. During law school she was a member of the school's intercollegiate traveling mock trial team. She won the Law Center's Hippard Open Mock Trial Tournament in both 1996 and 1997 and was awarded Best Speaker in 1996.  She was further acknowledged with the Byron McCoy Trial Advocacy Scholarship in her third year of law school.

She regularly joint ventures cases with respected attorneys in complex litigation and family law cases involving jury issues or high net worth property division to ensure the right results.  The law firm provides office space, secretarial support, and confidential remote access to its server.  Additionally, when a case permits, nurse and staff paralegals and other experts are retained to provide additional support at efficient rates for the benefit of the case and client.
